God has lead us on many adventures and we feel privileged to serve Him wherever He sends us.
We met while attending Multnomah University in Portland, Oregon, after being raised in spiritually privileged homes. Dwight received his BA from Multnomah and MA from Talbot Seminary and Sarah received her BA in Sacred Music from Multnomah.
We will celebrate 39 years of marriage on June 12, 2010. God has blessed us with three children and nine grandchildren. All of our children and their spouses serve in ministry. Along with the apostle Paul in III John 4, we say of our children, "I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth."
Dwight and Sarah have served in pastoral ministry for 32 years in the northwest. Dwight's education has allowed him a varied ministry with children, adults, small groups, and as a senior pastor.
Our pastoral ministry allowed us to enjoy several cross-cultural opportunities. We hosted refugees from Laos. Foreign students lived in our home and we traveled on numerous mission trips. We also served on two different mission advisory boards.
Sarah has worked with children for many years and with MOPS moms as a teaching leader, served in all aspects of church music and most recently as a church administrative assistant. God has used these experiences to develop us and prepare us for this new ministry.
In 2002 we reconnected with long-time friends Don and Ilene Nagle with whom we were colleagues in pastoral ministries at Valley Memorial Church in Spokane, WA. in the 1980's. Our church in La Center, Washington partnered with them and we took about a dozen trips to Papalote, Mexico. We fell in love with the people and work of Northern Light Ministries.
Don and Ilene asked us to sit on their mission board and we began to pray for additional missionaries to join the work, not realizing that God was calling us to answer those prayers.
We are excited to be using our gifts to reach and train future leaders to reach their own people for Christ. And so our adventure continues... God continues to lead and bless. To Him be the glory.
